Lenormand Houses: How to Read the Grand Tableau, an Alternate or Additional Method
Published
The Grand Tableau is a 36 card spread that utilizes each and every one of the cards of the Lenormand deck. One of the methods that I briefly mentioned in an earlier post about reading the Grand Tableau was related to something called Lenormand Houses. This topic was fairly large, that I felt that I had to make another post about it, instead of including it there.
The Lenormand Houses: A Simple Way to Read the Grand Tableau
Working with the Lenormand Houses in the Grand Tableau, especially if you’re coming from a tarot tradition, seems much more intuitively understandable than interpreting Lenormand spreads in a structural or syntactic manner. If you’re relatively new to Lenormand, this may be a great way to start reading this gigantic spread, as it gives you a fairly broad view of the situation that you are reading for. If you’re coming from a tarot tradition, you can consider the Lenormand Houses of the Grand Tableau as one of those giant spreads that you do every year that give you an overview on every area of your life. The only difference is that the answers are generally more practical and to the point.
Interpreting Lenormand Houses
When you lay out your Lenormand cards in the format of the Grand Tableau, each position is referred to as a Lenormand House. For example, when you draw the card, the first card you place down is in the house of the Rider (which is the first card of the Lenormand). The second card you place down is in the house of the Clover (the second card of the Lenormand), and so on and so forth, until you’ve placed all your cards. To read the card combinations, just read the house and the card in its position as a pair. For example, getting a Stork in the house of the the Rider (meaning this card is drawn first), can reference a change in any messages that you’ve been receiving.
